I hadn’t even finished my studies and I was already working in a factory in the afternoons. Passion is the key to seizing any opportunity. The pleasure of working for a company depends on how you are regarded: people are not numbers.
What exactly do you do?
I manage all the certifications as well as quality controls on the parts produced. From 2006 to 2021, I worked in the company alongside Torneria Guerrini Valerio. I was in charge of quality and in the last 4 years I was promoted to Manager.
How did you come to hold this position?
While I was studying at the Technical Institute as a mechanical engineer, I did my internship at that company and in February of my last year of studies, just a few months after graduating, I was contacted by a company manager and offered to work a few hours with them in the afternoons while I was waiting to finish my studies.
My family situation at the time was particular: my father passed away when I was 9 years old and my mother, although she managed to keep me in good health, was not working, so I jumped at the chance and thought it was my opportunity to contribute financially.
As soon as I graduated, they hired me. I’ve always worked with passion, even during my apprenticeship, and I think that was crucial in the decision to hire me.
And how did you arrive at Guerrini?
I already knew Torneria Guerrini Valerio because they were one of our suppliers. Until 2 years ago I would never have thought of changing company. I was very happy where I worked, and it was a second family for me. However, 2 years ago the company was sold and changed management. The environment was no longer the same, the climate changed, and we all became numbers, no longer people.
In 15 days, I had 10 job interviews, until the interview at Torneria Guerrini Valerio arrived and it was an immediate feeling. In Guerrini I found what I was looking for, a family environment, like the company I grew up in. We are people, not numbers.
I’ve only been here a few months and I already feel well integrated. I see capable people, with a desire to do and, despite the difficulties of recent times, they invest with vision in new technologies.
What do you do outside of work?
Since 2016 I have been living alone, not far from my family and work. I used to play football and loved it. The 2020 quarantine gave me the opportunity to learn the 3D printing: I print anything, decorative objects mostly. For the moment I use pre-made FDM drawings that are fed into software that activates the printer. I like the whole design part of creating and of course seeing the printer at work.
I dream of creating my own family and a very long working relationship. I feel that here I have room to grow as worker and contribute to the growth of the company.
